Mike Crowley
Dr. Mike Crowley graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991 after attending Thomas More College. He, his wife Stephanie, and their three children live in Butler. Four cats, two dogs, and three horses round out the family. Dr. Mike especially enjoys internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and the diagnosis and treatment of ear disease. He is very active in organized veterinary medicine. In 2011, he was honored to be the President of the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association. Currently, Dr. Mike is co-owner of the business, along with Dr. Steve Enzweiler.

Steve Enzweiler
Dr. Enzweiler is originally from Ft. Thomas. He attended Northern Kentucky University for his undergraduate studies. He then attended Auburn University for veterinary school. Upon graduating in 1997, he began practicing at Grants Lick. He enjoys outdoor activities of all sorts. Most importantly he enjoys spending time with this wife Diana and their four children. They live in Grants Lick on a small farm.

Kim Garofolo
Dr. Garofolo joined our veterinary staff in 2000. She works in patient receiving. Kim is originally from Andalusia, Alabama and attended Auburn University for both her pre-vet and veterinary education. She and Dr. Paul met and married while in veterinary school and have been blessed with two wonderful daughters. Kim enjoys volunteering, gardening, reading, and traveling.

Kate Middendorf
Dr. Middendorf joined our veterinary staff in 2003, she works mostly in patient receiving. She is a 1998 graduate of Auburn University. Originally from Ft. Mitchell, KY, Dr. Kate did her pre-vet studies at the University of Kentucky, where she also completed a degree in zoology. Dr. Kate has a menagerie of dogs and cats and takes great pride in caring for them. She is involved in conformation and obedience exhibition with her dogs. Her hobbies include shopping, reading, spending time with family and friends, and anything Disney.

Whitney Dettmer
Dr. Whitney Dettmer is from Villa Hills, Kentucky. She attended the University of Louisville where she received her Bachelors in both Biology and Anthropology. She received her Doctorate from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Whitney is married to her high school sweetheart, EJ, and they have two children, Blair and Jay. They have 3 dogs and a cat. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and preventative care. She enjoys redecorating her home, any DIY project and is always looking forward to planning her next Disney trip.

David LaRoy
Dr. David LaRoy graduated in 1997 from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated in 1993 from Thomas More College where he met his wife Amy. David and Amy have three wonderful children and two dogs. Dr. Dave enjoys soft tissue surgery, wellness visits, internal medicine, and dentistry. He enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family in a variety of activities. He enjoys running in his free time and has completed several marathons.

Brandon
Brandon graduated from Georgetown College with his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology before pursuing post-bachelor education from the University of Kentucky and Purdue University. He is very active in the veterinary community, speaking at national/regional conferences and helping veterinary professionals across the United States. His experience within veterinary medicine spans nearly every role within a practice, and has managed practices as large as 180 employees. He currently resides north of Cincinnati with his wife, two dogs, three cats and ball python.

Brittany
Officially, Brittany joined our team in 2006, working as a receptionist and as an assistant. Unofficially, Brittany had been here for years before that as a volunteer!! In 2011 she graduated from Morehead State University with a degree in Veterinary Technology and obtained her Veterinary Technician License. In March 2015 she advanced to the practice management position. In April 2019 she obtained her certification as a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. In her little bit of free time she enjoys the outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.

Donna
Another true animal lover on our staff, Donna has dogs, cats, horses, and rabbits. She has been known to transport a pony in the back seat of her car and to dress her pets in fashionable clothing. Since 1996, Donna has been a receptionist, veterinary assistant and veterinary technician. She and her family live in Pendleton County, Ky. Raising her daughter and riding horses keep her busy.

Jacqueline
Jacqueline attended Morehead State University where she earned her degree in veterinary technology. She started her career here as a volunteer and through the years has worked as a Receptionist, Assistant, and now a Technician. She joined the team in 2006 and is a dedicated and compassionate employee, a true animal lover! She enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, and taking care of her many animals!

Elizabeth
Elizabeth has been part of the GLVH team in several different positions – a volunteer, assistant, and licensed veterinary technician. Elizabeth graduated from Morehead State University in 2014 with her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences. After she passed her National Boards Exam, she graduated with her Bachelors degree in biology in 2015. Elizabeth strives to provide her patients with the best of care. Some things Elizabeth enjoys in her free time are horseback riding, hiking, gardening, and loving on her animals at home.

Mattie
Mattie attended Morehead State University where she graduated with her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology in May of 2020. After passing her National State Board Exam, she is now a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She started at GLVH as an assistant while working towards her degree but is now a full time LVT. She is currently still enrolled at Morehead State working towards her second Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science. Caring for animals has always been her passion in life, and she strives for patient advocacy to provide empathy for our patients that cannot speak for themselves. Mattie enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and two dogs, Nellie and Sadie, in her free time.

Tim
Tim Schneider joined the team in May of 2017 as a veterinary assistant after spending a 30-year career in education, 28 of those years serving the Campbell County School district. Tim has four grown children, several grandchildren and a menagerie of animals including dogs, cats, and tropical fish. He enjoys being with family, spending time outdoors and showing his Rhodesian Ridgebacks in AKC conformation events.

Chyann
Chyann joined our team in 2013. She has attended Northern KY University and Brown Mackie college. Her favorite part of her job is working to help sick animals and developing a good client/patient bond. She enjoys hanging with her “fam,” friends, and furry friends (two dogs, Biscuit and LuLu, and a cat, Twinkie).

Haley
Haley was born and raised in Baraboo, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin Baraboo/Sauk County where she received an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She then moved to Kentucky in August 2013 to attend the University of Kentucky where she graduated in December 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences with a minor in Business. Haley joined our team in January 2017 and is currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program. She enjoys spending time with her fiancé, crafting, and cuddling with her fur babies.

Melissa
Melissa helps out at both of our hospitals as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. In addition to this, she stays busy with her two sons, three dogs, and a bird. Yep, she has a full house. Kendall joined our team in 2019. She went to Ross Education and received her certificate in veterinary assisting. Kendall currently lives in Demossville, KY and has loved animals since she was little. She loves spending time with her baby, Thatcher, and her dog named Shiloh.

Dylan
Dylan is a freshman pre-veterinary student at Midway University where he plans on double majoring in Equine Science and Biology. Dylan is most interested in mixed animal practice and internal medicine. Dylan loves spending time riding horses, enjoying his dogs Domino and Reggie, and hanging out with friends. Dylan is very passionate about animal care and is thrilled to be a member of our team.

Jaclyn
Jaclyn is a certified veterinary technician assistant. She loves the joy her job gives her whether it’s caring for the animals to giving out cuddles. She currently lives in California KY with her three dogs Sadie (Cocker Spaniel), Pedro (Chihuahua Mix), and Buck (St Bernard).

Marissa
Marissa loves animals and has had her own personal collection of exotic pets for many years. She currently lives in Taylor Mill, KY with her two rats (Fern & Daisy), bearded dragon (Ambrose), and her new family addition – English Bulldog (Harli). Her kennel coworkers, learning through Grants Lick, and seeing all the animals has been her favorite part of the job! She is currently working through her clinical hours needed for her Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology, at Ashworth College.

Trinity is a high school student who loves animals and has a few pets of her own, including 2 dogs, 2 cats and a rabbit. She will to be attending college and majoring in psychology after high school. Trinity has volunteered at our hospital for over a year before being hired on in 2019. Her favorite part about her job is learning new things, seeing all different types of animals, and building relationships with clients and coworkers. Trinity enjoys spending time with her family and pets, camping and being apart of FFA.

Sierra is currently in the top 25 out of over 300 students at Campbell County High School class of 2022. She enjoys barrel racing her horses, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and playing sports. Along with a quarter horse, a quarter pony, and three miniature horses, she has 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a goat. She has previously had a large mix of different breeds of dogs ranging in size from a toy poodle to a mastiff, a skunk, a turtle, and several bunnies.

Christina
Christina joined our receptionist team in September 2008 and enjoys her job very much. She has loved animals her whole life, being responsible for their care at a very young age. Christina resides in Pendleton County with her husband, Phillip. They have a dog, Oreo, and a cats, Sadie, Snicker, and Allie. If Phillip would let her, she would have a houseful of animals! In February 2015 they also welcomed their first child, and adorable baby girl, Peyton.

Holly joined the Grants Lick staff in 2004. Holly loves working with animals. In the past she has had a menagerie of animals including horses, chickens, peacocks and ducks. Holly enjoys playing softball and spending time with her daughter Emily.

Jessica
Jessica is a receptionist at Grants Lick Veterinary Hospital in Alexandria, KY. In this position, Appelman delivers customer service while making client appointments that help the hospital perform cohesively. Before this role, she was an Assistant Director of an after-school care program, where she directed the activity and supervision of children. While there, she developed new procedures that improved efficiency and client relations that resulted in enrollment increases. She has also worked as a Pre-School Aid and a Call Center Customer Service Representative. Appelman currently attends Thomas More University where she will obtain a Bachelors degree for Business Administration. In her spare time, she enjoys reading mystery novels, shopping, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family.
